Our Music

“Sing to the Lord a new song, for the Lord has done marvelous things. . . . Shout with joy to the Lord, all you lands; lift up your voice, rejoice, and sing. Sing to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the voice of song. With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout with joy before the Sovereign, the Lord.” Psalm 98:1, 4-6

Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church is a congregation united in praising God through music and song. We believe music is one of God’s greatest gifts, and it has an important role to play in the life of our church.

Music enhances our worship by giving praise to God in a different way. Vocal and instrumental music help convey feelings and ideas and helps us understand our faith. Music gives us a sense of participation and community, engaging all generations. Music helps us connect to God, no matter where we are on our faith journey.

The Music Ministry of PIPC offers vocal, instrumental and Handbell choir opportunities for Adults.  You are invited to join us as we sing, ring and play our praises to God.

Alleluia Ringers

The Alleluia Ringers participate in Sunday morning worship and special events in the church and community throughout the year.  Handbell ringing is a great opportunity for musicians and music enthusiasts to come together to add beauty and color to any worship service. Hymn arrangements, Hymn Introductions and accompaniments, Psalm settings, musical liturgy portions, and anthems all make up the handbell repertoire we use in worship.

If you have basic music reading skills and are looking for a way to contribute to worship, handbells are a great opportunity!  The Handbell Choir is open to interested musicians from high-school age and up.

The handbell choir practices each Monday from 4:00 to 5:30.
